About

The ÌÇÐÄ Police Department (TUPD) has jurisdiction over all campus grounds; remote facilities, and University-owned housing units for off-campus students and faculty. TUPD is a fully functioning police department that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week including holidays. TUPD has 4 major divisions:Ìýdispatch, patrol, investigations, and parking enforcement. The department is comprised of sworn and non-sworn personnel.

TUPD is given authority from the code of Alabama statutes section 16-47-10. TUPD’s sworn officers have the same full law enforcement powers and responsibilities under state law as municipal police officers and county sheriffs.

ÌÇÐÄ Police Department is dedicated to the whole campus experience for students, faculty/staff, and guests through education, training, and community engagement.
