The AGC Education and Research Foundation, founded in 1968, has for more than 50 years made good on its commitment to support the future of our industry through its robust scholarship program and innovative projects. The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate-level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET or ACCE accredited construction management or construction-related engineering programs.
Andrew J. Kaufmann Memorial Architecture and Construction Science Library Award ()
This award is given in honor and loving memory of Andrew J. & Jane L. Kaufman, parents of Thomas Kaufmann, former Supervisor of the Robert R. Taylor Architecture and Construction Science Library. Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann inspired a love for words, books, and libraries, in their home, as well as the passion to explore and learn more about the world in which we live. This award is given in 2-parts: An Award of $100 given to one deserving student in Architecture, and an Award of $100 given to one deserving student in Construction Science, both of whom have demonstrated a deep passion and appreciation for the Taylor Library by making the most of its facility, books, media, and resources. Thomas & Ann Kaufmann are the award sponsors.
Board of Architects Scholarship ()
Awarded to a ÌÇÐÄ student pursuing a degree in architecture and preparing for internship opportunities. ($1,000 each)
Construction Science Management Scholarship ()
Awarded to a construction science and management student who is a senior and has the highest GPA in the CSM program.
Cooper Cary Scholarship ()
The recipient must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be a full-time student majoring in architecture, and be an active member of the AIAS and NOMAS organizations. The recipient must comply with all meetings, student activities, study groups, student competitions, etc. The recipient must also assist with recruitment and retention, attend required leadership training programs and counseling sessions and contribute to academic study or tutoring sessions when needed.
Dean Carla Jackson Bell Most Improved Student Award ()
Awarded to two females in each of the architecture and construction science and management programs. These students have not only shown significant improvement in their academic performance but have progressed in social behavior, general attitude and have collaborated with other students across academic disciplines. Sponsored by the Dean.
Herman J. Russell Scholarship ()
The HJ Russell Scholarship at TSACS is for Construction Science and Management (CSM) students who have demonstrated academic competence in pursuing their CSM degree with preference given to those with a defined financial need. The HJ Russell Scholarship recognizes and provides support to students whose only apparent obstacle to achievement is a lack of sufficient funds. The scholarship is highly competitive and is usually for CSMT upperclassmen.
Historic Preservation Internship ()
The Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science (TSACS) will hire students to develop publishable documentation material for Tuskegee Historic Preservation projects. Interns will be responsible for both independent and collaborative work tasks including cleaning up drawings, laser scanning sites, developing technical drawings, creating virtual models using tools like photogrammetry. Students will also work on developing marketing material for Historic Preservation projects completed in the past.
Historic Preservation Scholarship ()
Awarded to a student pursuing a minor in historic preservation at ÌÇÐÄ who has demonstrated academic competence in pursuing their minor degree. This scholarship is awarded to students who have immersed themselves in learning about historic preservation through participating in conferences, summer internships, workshops, and other preservation-related activities through TSACS.
Major L. Holland Architecture Award ()
Mr. Major L. Holland, former associate professor and Professor Emeritus in the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture, gives this award to the second-year architecture student showing the most promise, maturity, and dedication to the study of architecture, as recommended by the Department of Architecture faculty.
National Association of Home Builders Scholarship ()
The recipient is an active member of NAHB and participates on the NAHB competition team. The student must have a 2.5 GPA and must have attended 80% of club meetings, competition team rehearsals, volunteered for departmental events, and have an interest in residential construction. ($500 each)
Pella Scholarship ()
Merit-based scholarship available to current TSACS students of Architecture entering their 4th or 5th year or curriculum study. To recognize excellence in architecture (studio) design.
Richard K. Dozier, Ph.D., former dean of the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science Management ()
This award is given to two freshman students - one in architecture and one in construction science. The recipients are selected and ranked on the basis of GPA and demonstrated leadership in their respective departments ($250 each).
Robert R. Taylor Scholarship (Ames Foundation) ()
The recipient must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be a full-time student in architecture or construction science management, be an active member of the AIAS, ACG, and NOMAS organization; comply with all meetings, student activities, study groups, study competitions, etc. The recipient must also assist with recruitment and retention activities as identified by the department heads, attend required leadership training programs and counseling sessions, and contribute to academic study or tutoring sessions when needed.
Shomari Asim Foster Scholarship (Blackbelt Community Foundation) (CLICK HERE FOR THE APPLICATION)
The recipient must be a rising Junior or Senior, must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be a full-time student in the College of Business & Information Science, or The School of Architecture or Construction Science, and who has achieved academic excellence, demonstrates revolutionary leadership with integrity, understands their obligation to the community, and to support the fight for the underprivileged.
TCCL (Troylene, Charlene, and Cleveland Ladner) Scholarship ()
Awarded to a female professional program architecture student from the Midwest who has developed herself professionally through internships, participating in the department career fairs, and other professional activities.
Turner Construction Tuition Assistance ()
The Turner Construction Tuition Assistance Program is for CSMT and Architecture students in their Sophomore or Junior year. To be considered please submit an original essay describing your interest in the construction industry and why you should be considered for the scholarship. (Essay should be no more than 300 words) $10,000
Work & Service Award ()
Established in 2011 by Prof. J. Ames and V. Horn, awarded to two third-year students, one in Architecture and one in Construction Science, who have demonstrated a commitment to the hard work required in expanding their ability and knowledge in their chosen field, and who are also generous with their time and energy in service to the School and their fellow students ($150 each)
